My Morning Makeup Essentials

So I haven’t always been good with putting on a daily face. Now that I’ve returned to work from staying home with my son for a 10 months, I decided to try to make it happen. I started getting into makeup about 5 years ago, and have spent wayyy too much at Sephora. Lot of my products would go to waste, because I wouldn’t use them every day. One of the things I really want to focus on is investing in quality items, but also actually using them!!! I also, realize that it really boosts my confidence with I put makeup on.

After washing my face, I apply toner and then moisturizer. I’ll do another post on my morning skin care routine.

Here are some of the items that I have come to love, and the best part is that I can do my morning routine in about 7-10 minutes, which is totally needed as a working mom.

1)    Clinique Tinted Moisturizer – I like to mix this with my moisturizer, I think it gives me the perfect coverage and includes SPF.

2)    Benefit's Rose Benetint – I love having a natural rosy cheek and this does it for me.

3)    Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer – This is my favorite concealer thus far. I use to be a YSL Touche D’clair girl, but find better coverage with this NARS concealer. Really helpful when my kid decides not to sleep, and I look like a zombie the next day.

4)    Smash Box Halo Hydrating powder – This powder is great! Doesn’t feel too cakey and helps control face oil and shine for most of the day.

5)    Nars Blush in Org and Bronzer in Laguna – I love this combo and their fun names!

6)    Glossier Boy Brow – I brought this just a few weeks ago during their Black Friday Sale. So far, so good. Plus, I really enjoyed the packaging and stickers of this brand.

7)    Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – I only used the Dior Show mascara for a long time, but found it to be really heavy on my eyelashes. I love all of the Benefit mascaras, and I don’t find them to be too hard to remove.

8)    Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadows - I love all of their color palettes and the shadows have a wonderful staying power.

9)    Glossier – My favorite new make-up product! My lips look amazing and are super moisturized after put this on. Perfect way to complete my made-up, but natural look.

New Year, New Blog

Hello Cyber Peeps!

Happy 2017! I'm back. For real this time.

I need an outlet.

I'm struggling, and I need to channel things to tune my vibrations.

I need to create a life of abundance.

I need to be more mindful.

I need to be more present.

I need to take better care of myself.

I will document that journey here.

You're welcome to ride along.

Hello Dear Old Friend

Hello Blog World!

It's been a while! So as I mentioned in my first post, I'm a notorious starter of blogs. Unfortunately, I can't find the right footing to continuously post a few times a week. To cut myself a little slack it's been really hard working full-time and being a part-time graduate student. Also, everyday and not so everyday life stuff has been rearing its ugly head lately. The past three-four years have been really tough on me to be completely honest. I wanted this blog to be some kind of escape of cute outfits, delicious home cook meals, and creative hosting ideas.

Here's the reality:

  • I look extra frumpy cause I don't care about how I look as a result of kinda hating my job.
  • I haven't cooked a meal in ages (but there's a good reason)
  • I haven't really been hosting many fabulous dinners or brunches (cause I'm stuck doing school work, to lazy to clean, or binge watching Bravo)

Another issue that came up for me around this blog was that I really got caught up in comparing myself to others and wanted to appear as wonderful and perfect as other bloggers do. Like that really had me stuck creatively. I realized that I was starting to compare my life with people I'm actually friends with as well.

So one morning, I had enough. I took FaceBook and Instagram off my phone. I just couldn't deal with constantly checking my phone and the debbie downer moments that would follow.

I'm at some kind of fork in the road moment in my life. Super big changes are on the horizon, and I am scared shitless! I'm happy, I'm sad, I laugh, and then I cry. It's a seriously a crazy space to be in honestly.

I share all this with you my fellow nonexistent readers, because I really need an outlet. I need to get it out my head, so I can start working towards stable, good, and happy. I'm not putting any pressure or schedules on myself. I'm just going with the flow, breathe, trust, and see what happens.

Thank you for reading. Stay blessed.

Self-Care Wednesdays!

Hey friends,

So as I mentioned in my last blog post, I've been working on me as a whole lately (which isn't easy, let me tell you!). Sometimes when you reach a dark low, once you start to emerge you realize that you are not taking care of your body, mind, and soul in the optimum way. I'm not the kind of person that puts the oxygen mask on first, before helping others. Hence, I've decided to start a new series on my blog called "Self Care Wednesdays!" I think too many of us focus on helping others (which isn't bad), but forget about taking care of ourselves. At the end of the day, if you aren't making sure the foundation is strong, the whole structure will fall. Also, why should people take your advice when you don't even apply it to your own life.

Something I started incorporating in my daily routine a couple of weeks ago is setting an intention for the day in my journal. I've collected journals throughout the years, but the habit of journalling never really stuck. I find that having a focus has really helped me commit to everyday. Before I leave for work I set a positive intention for the day. This may be for me to be positive, forgiving, confident, grateful, and the list goes on. Whenever I see myself getting frustrated or negative throughout the day, I think back on my intention and try to refocus towards positive thoughts. Hopefully, I can stick to get, because I call tell it is already working. It's the Law of Attraction people!

Do you have any self-care routines that you can't live without?

Everything will be Amazing...

Hello old friends,

It's been a long time, a very long time. Over the last few months I've had to step back and reevaluate life. It hasn't been the easiest thing to do. I'm not out of the tunnel yet, but I'm making strides towards the light. I've started on a journey to find me.....the divine spirit that exist amongst all the negativity, stress, worry, fear, etc.

I've rededicated myself to writing on this blog, because truthfully I need an creative outlet. I need to get the words out. I need support and love. I need to believe that in the end everything will be AMAZING (if I will it, the UNIVERSE will make it so!).

As always, thanks for reading. Stay tune. Leave a comment.

Just hold on, I'm coming home....

Hello friends in the blogosphere!

I know I have been MIA lately, and I'm sorry. I really want this blog to work and to post at least 3-4 times a week. I have so many ideas floating around in this (big) head of mine. I just under estimated how many stressful responsibilities I had in my life currently. It's been very difficult working full time, being a part time graduate student, maintaining my home, and above else finding quality time with my husband. Sometimes thinking about all of it at once makes me scream!!! Even though I know I shouldn't add anything else to my plate, I really want to make this blog happen, because I need a creative outlet.

Sorry for all the rambling. So for the few that already follow the blog, just hold on, I'm coming home (aka my blog) soon! Thanks for your support.
